📚 THE STORY BEHIND THE PARK: (click here to read more)

Wolff Park owes its name to a dedicated group of elementary school students rather than a city planning committee. During the park’s design phase, a student leadership team at Lawrence Elementary researched Arvada’s educational history and discovered John Wolff, the founder of the city’s first schoolhouse. Since the school’s mascot is the Timberwolves, the students realized that naming the park “Wolff” next to the “Wolves” would be a perfect fit. They presented their idea to the Arvada City Council, which enthusiastically approved the concept.

The concrete skate park, known as Wolff Skatepark, spans 2,000 square feet and is located on the grass within the park. Built by Team Pain in 2012, the layout is seamlessly integrated into the surrounding area. It features a smooth concrete pad that connects three main elements. On one side, there is a tight concrete bowl pocket that is ideal for carving and maintaining speed, flowing across the pad to a standalone quarterpipe on the opposite edge. In between, there is a long, low quarterpipe running parallel to a decorative rock and grass garden.

We highly recommend this skatepark because it is incredibly fun and family-friendly, offering a fantastic experience within its small footprint. Plus, it is only five minutes away from Memorial “Piggy” Skatepark.
