Official signs designate this area as Memorial Park, but local skaters have affectionately nicknamed it “Piggy” due to its proximity to the nearby police station. The surrounding park features several unique landmarks, including the Johnny Roberts Memorial Disc Golf Course, which honors a local teacher and World Disc Golf Hall of Fame inductee known as “Squeezer Geezer.” Additionally, the park includes the Arvada Police Honor Garden, dedicated to four fallen Arvada police officers.

Memorial Park is also home to a fantastic skate park that boasts tight transitions and pool coping. The coping is a standout feature, providing transition skaters with that satisfying sound and feel unique to pool coping. The park’s layout allows pedestrians to walk directly through the center of the skate park to access other areas, so be mindful of foot traffic while you skate. Due to the pool coping and challenging transitions, Piggy attracts a steady stream of dedicated skaters alongside regular park visitors. Expect a lively atmosphere with plenty of activity in the surrounding space. Whether you’re looking to tackle the coping or just enjoy some disc golf, this park is a must-visit stop on your Arvada skate itinerary.
