Located on the eastern edge of town on Valmont Road, Valmont City Park is one of Northern Colorado’s premier wheeled riders hubs. The complex features a polished concrete skatepark, an asphalt pump track, a world-class forty-acre mountain bike park, and the skater-built Green Block DIY plaza, all within a vibrant space. The Evergreen Skateparks concrete transition sections attract steady crowds, while the Green Block offers an authentic, community-driven street lab. This area includes flatground pads with ever-changing ledges, DIY curbs, and rails. This unique design allows visitors to effortlessly transition between smooth municipal concrete and adaptable street obstacles.

The park’s name is derived from Valmont Road and the nearby Valmont Butte, a natural landmark that holds significant local heritage. The name “Valmont” comes from the French words for valley and mountain. It was originally an 1860s boomtown that briefly rivaled Boulder during early European settlement. Before that, the surrounding valley served as an important gathering place for the Indigenous Arapaho, Cheyenne, and Ute tribes. Today, Boulder’s commitment to public open space and active lifestyles is evident in this expansive facility, where rich local history intersects with modern wheeled sports culture.
