Benedict Park is a 22-acre area located in Brighton, Colorado, and serves as one of the town’s main gathering spots. It is named after the influential Benedict family, who significantly contributed to the region’s agricultural and civic development. The park recently underwent a major transformation costing three million dollars, which introduced a splash pad, a disc golf course, updated playgrounds, and shaded picnic shelters.
Within this bustling community hub lies the Benedict Skatepark, which first opened in 2004, designed by Site Design Group. This compact concrete street plaza provided local riders with a dedicated space for ledges, rails, and technical flatground skating, making it a classic neighborhood hangout. To accommodate the growing demand from local skaters for more features, the city enlisted the help of Evergreen Skateparks for an expansion alongside the original layout. Instead of demolishing the existing park, Evergreen seamlessly connected a new, expansive concrete area to the original 2004 design. This expansion included signature flowing concrete waves, smooth transitions, pump bumps, and innovative street features, blending old-school ledge sessions with modern continuous-flow carving. Complete with overhead lights that allow for skating until 10:00 PM every night, the updated Benedict Skatepark offers riders the best of both worlds.
